After Jillian got her diploma signed at UHS, she headed to the University of Northern Iowa’s Composition/Theory program, graduating UNI in 2014. Having always planned to work in film music, she moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2015 to begin working as an assistant to film composer Assaf Rinde. Since then, she’s assisted on a number of film and television projects, recorded a few saxophone cues on a film, and co-written multiple trailer tracks with Assaf. Jillian also continues to compose commissions for concert music and arrange for show choirs in Iowa. She writes, “I’m in the studio 7 days a week doing what I love and plan to continue working as a film composer in LA.”
Jillian is a great example of a someone who sets a goal, charts a course, and steps on the gas until she gets there. We’re honored that Jillian calls UHS her alma mater.
